I've been getting into tea more lately as I try to hydrate myself with the onslaught of summer (onslaught is no exaggeration in AZ). I was heading over to Aveda the other day and passed Teavana, and they had samples set out. Normally I bypass samples for fear of getting roped into a sales pitch, but the salesman was inside the store, and the sidewalk was quiet, so I quickly filled a small plastic cup and headed off. Two steps later, after my first sip, I stopped, turned and headed back. It was the first time tea made me actually stop....in my tracks.
It was the loveliest combination of flavor: lavender, cream and vanilla.
I know. That sounds all kinds of decadent, when tea should be herbal and hippy. But it was a little bit of love at first sip.
I walked straight over the counter, grabbed a lovely tin of Lavender Creme Herbal Tea and headed for the register. Before I got there, I flipped the tin over and almost tripped.
I was kind of hesitating, and then the salesman said, "It's 30% off."
I mean...thank goodness. I bought it and have been drinking it all week. It's really lovely. The base is a roobios from South Africa, and (according to the website) it has hints of vanilla, caramel and lavender.
Anyway....if you happen upon some, indulge. I've been drinking it iced, but I made it hot the first time, measuring it all out just-so. Either way, I'm loving it.
And is it me, or does everyone's hands look a little weird in pics?
