I don't know why, but I love infographics. Love them!
I came across this one a few weeks back, put together by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The numbers and short messages give a pretty powerful message about the positives of global investment in women.
Two of my favorite quotes from this graphic include:
A woman multiplies the impact of an investment...
Countries where women's share of seats in political bodies is greater than 30% are more inclusive, egalitarian and democratic.
I really love that this graphic gave some sobering statistics (1 in 7 girls will marry before they are 15 in the developing world) and then shows how investment in girls makes a direct positive impact on those numbers (Girls who stay in school for seven or more years, marry four years later and have two fewer children).
I think it's sometimes easy to forget that the greatest natural resource of any country/region/land is the people who inhabit it.
Hope everyone had a lovely week.
